The reason for establishment of the association

Before year 1978, Thailand was highly developing country and economy had been growing rapidly. Heavy machinery was taken part in the development of the construction of high-rise buildings, land developing and road construction. The big demand for heavy machineries resulted in a big rise of business competition among entrepreneur in the country, especially on the construction machineries which most of the requirements at that time were imported used machineries – rather than brand new machineries which were more costly.

In the year 1978, there were tendencies that government would prevent the use of imported used machine in the country. This policy would have an effect on the business of many companies in the industry. As a result, there was a gathering of total 17 entrepreneurs as an association with an objective to protest this government policy before taken into effective laws.

From this event, the entrepreneurs had seen the benefits of the association as well as the ideas of turning business competition into collaboration among them.
